What to Expect
Visits usually take between 1 hour and 1 ½ hours depending on participation in the Eye Spy game.
There are many activities for children including an Eye Spy Game, Legos, play area with Thomas the Tank Engine, simulators and a 1919 caboose.
Yes, there is a self-guided tour available at the front desk. There are also group and private tours available. Contact the museum for more information.

Yes, a few of the artifacts include a 1919 caboose, a switch key collection, a railroad lantern collection, general railroad items and more! Learn more about our exhibits here.
No, but there are many interactive stations in the exhibit.
Accidents happen, and if something is accidentally dropped, please alert staff or a volunteer so that we can remove the item from the layout and return it to you.
Operating on the Oregon California and Eastern Railway requires a 2-day training process. Learn more here.
All but the mezzanine is ADA compliant. Because this cannot be avoided at this time the Museum has chosen to offer free admission to our visitors with ADA needs.
Service animals are welcome.
Food and drink are only allowed in the museum lobby.

Join us to celebrate the history of the fabulous Western Pacific Railroad. The beautiful Feather River Canyon line will be featured on the layout all weekend. Also in our lobby we will be featuring T-Trak and N Scale for the weekend. Regular museum hours.
Literacy Weekend – Featuring the Hogwarts Express Train and Dept. 56 Village
